![]() ![]() While the fighting is intense and visceral, the primary message is that violence begets violence. ![]() Gunshots and stab wounds result in sprays and pools of blood. Bodies in varying states of decay litter the environment, including hanged and tortured victims. Characters' faces are strained with anger and fear in close-quarters combat that involves choke holds, shivs and knives, and snapped necks. ![]() It focuses on two young women who are tragically obsessed with avenging the people they love, but characters come from all walks of life, with different beliefs, backgrounds, races, genders, and sexualities. Shame on you Metacritic!Įdit 3: Just tried to put the review up again and this time it worked! If you haven't been able to leave a review for the game on Metacritic then try again now because they just might let you this time.Parents need to know that The Last of Us Part II is a third-person action game exclusively for the PlayStation 4 that's set in a world that has largely succumbed to a global pandemic spread by fungal spores that quickly transform people into mindless monsters. This confirms that Metacritic IS removing or preventing negative reviews from appearing on the site while allowing positive ones to up the score of the game. Why is that?" This person, like me, was unable to post a negative review so he changed it to a positive score to get his comment out there. This is fairly souring! For some reasons I can’t seem to post my review. This is what he typed, "So I have to kill my favorite character and play as his murderer. Screw them.ĮDIT 2: Okay, I just went on Metacritic again and I saw an 8 review by someone named bllk. I didn't insult or judge anyone for liking the game and yet they removed it just for voicing my opinion. Now, I just saw that the moderators removed it. I made sure to say in the post that I wasn't judging anyone who did like it and that I was just curious about why they like it. Posted a comment there a day ago asking why some people loved the game's story because I thought it was bad. This whole The Last of Us Part 2 situation has really opened my eyes to how corrupt the video game industry can be.ĮDIT 1: Speaking of, just left r/thelastofus. I sent an email to the help section of the site to try and convince them to put my review up there, saying it was legitimate, but I doubt they will allow it. If this is what is happening it is despicable behavior. It appears that Metacritic is allowing positive reviews while removing all negative ones to make the game look good. I have talked to others on this sub and it seems they are getting the same result. Instead, every time I try Error 503 comes up. But Metacritic will not allow me to post the review. Now, whenever I replay the original The Last of Us, I am going to have to pretend that this disaster never happened."Īs you can see, my review is legitimate and fair, mentioning the game's positives and many, many negatives. The graphics, gameplay and some story elements are good but since the overall story is so important to The Last of Us Part 2, and most of that story is horrible, I had to give it a 4. Again, the graphics and gameplay are amazing, but I just did not want to replay the game and witness such a terrible story. ![]() It completely undoes the message they were trying to tell and makes everything feel pointless. Not only that but the ending is just awful. This character and the way she is portrayed is one of the big reasons why the story is so bad. Joel's relationship with Ellie is spat upon, characters make ridiculous choices, and the mystery woman, played by Laura Bailey, is, in my opinion, the worst video game character of all time. There are some good moments, which is why the story gets a 3 and not a 0 but they in no way make up for the awful story choices that are made. The story just killed my enjoyment of The Last of Us Part 2 completely. My thoughts on the game overall by the end was graphics 10/10, gameplay 9/10, story 3/10. This event sounded questionable but I decided to wait for contexts like many of the critic reviews said to before I judged it. "The Last of Us is my favourite game of all time so I was excited for the sequel, even though I got spoiled about one of the major events. I thought The Last of Us Part 2 was a bad game so I created a Metacritic account to give my opinion on it. ![]()
